Hello & Welcome!

woolleyweaves@gmail.com

This is my first blog of the crochet work that I do. Although I have been crocheting for a long time, I have just started to design my own stuff. My hope is that not only will people find my creations irresistible but that other crocheters will find ideas for their own designs. I hope this will be a true exchange of thoughts, ideas, musings, and dialogue as well as commerce.

I love to crochet. I find it soothes me when I am anxious, helps me to cope when things get hard and gives me a sense of pride through accomplishment. Each piece I work on is unique and even though there maybe similarities; each piece is created with something slightly different, so no two pieces are exactly alike.

I decided to start my own line of accessories and accents because I grew very tired of the "mass production" of things and the poor quality that exists in mass produced items. The care and pride in crafting items has all but disappeared and most things purchased now are extremely disposable or have a short lifespan.

At WoolleyWeaves each piece created was meant to last a long time; to be handed down from generation to generation and never go out of style. Things may go in and out of fashion, but a classic piece never goes out of style.

We also work on heirloom restoration, commissions and will be adding sections for the holiday seasons. I can also post how each project is developing so you can see, in an interactive way, the process of creating your unique "Weave."

As time goes on, I will be creating new things and posting them online. The uniqueness of WoolleyWeaves is that you can pick an item and specify what color you would like it in, whether or not to add embellishments like glass or wooden beads, crocheted edgings, or sequins. We will work with you to create the fabric, wrap, bedspread, or accessory of your dreams. Or, if you really like something in it's simplest form, you can always purchase it "as is." No other designer does this.
